There is something very different about seeing a Kanchipuram silk saree where it begins.

But on the loom.
During our recent visit to Kanchipuram, we had the opportunity to spend time with the people behind the sarees we love — seeing the looms at work, watching the threads come together and understanding how much care sits behind every finished saree.
That experience changed the way we wanted to bring Kanchipuram silks to our customers in Australia.
More than a saree
A Kanchipuram saree starts long before it reaches your wardrobe.
It begins with carefully selected silk, colour combinations, border designs, zari work and countless decisions made during the weaving process.
Standing beside the looms, we could see the precision involved in creating even the smallest details.

Why we wanted to get closer to the source
Traditionally, a boutique in Australia can only offer the sarees it has already selected, purchased and shipped from India.
That naturally limits the choice available to customers.
During our visit, we realised there was another way.
By working more closely with trusted Kanchipuram weavers and connecting their available collections with Jaffy’s Collection, we can now give our customers access to many more sarees without waiting for every piece to first arrive in Sydney.
That is how Fresh from the Loom began.

Fresh from the Loom gives you access to selected Kanchipuram silk sarees that are available directly with our trusted weaving partners.
You choose your saree through Jaffy’s Collection.
The saree is then prepared in India and sent directly from Kanchipuram to your home in Australia.
Approximately 2–3 weeks from Kanchipuram to your doorstep.
And because these sarees come directly from our weaver network, our collection can remain broader, fresher and much closer to what is currently being created.
Authenticity matters

The Silk Mark certification provides customers with assurance that the saree is made using genuine natural silk.
During our Kanchipuram visit, we were also able to see the certification tags attached directly to the sarees — one of the small but important details that we want our customers to feel confident about when purchasing from Jaffy’s Collection.
